Will you assign roommates to larger rooms, triples, or quads?
Roommates will only be assigned if they are mutually requested. Yes, we will be using our larger rooms for mutually requested roommates and smaller doubles will be used for students who are placed in single occupancy rooms.
I asked for a double because of the cost, but didn't have a roommate request. Will I have to pay more?
If you are assigned a singal as a double you will be charged more. If your assigned room type and rate do not meet your expectations, you can cancel by July 31 and receive a $200 refund. If you cancel July 21 or later you will not receive a fund and will be a charged a cancellation fee. See your housing contract for details.
To cancel your housing contract use the askRPS student web form. When presented with options in the web form, select "Housing Assignments", followed by "Contract Cancellation".
How much space is between the beds?
Beds will be as far apart as possible within rooms - generally six feet. When possible, we have tried to locate the beds on the floor and separated with a wardrobe or desk. Where that is not possible, the beds must be bunked or L-lofted. Students are encouraged to sleep feet to head, if they have a roommate. For student safety we strongly encourage residents to leave the beds arranged as they are at move in.
Do you have quads and will you assign two students to a quad?
We will not be offering quads or triples this year. Those rooms will be used as doubles for mutually requested roommates.
I found someone I want to live with, can you assign/reassign up together?
Updated August 3
Most applications have been processed and assignment notifications sent. At this time, we believe we will complete all applications submitted by the end of July during the first week of August. All students who submit an application will be offered a room assignment. With the reopening of Foster, McNutt, and Teter, we do not anticipate a need to make temporary assignments at this time.
