Monday, August 3: Moving from summer-term housing
Summer-term housing students move to their academic year assignments, including athletes who stayed over the summer and Groups Scholars program students as needed.
Sunday, August 9 and Friday, August 14: Sponsored groups
This is centralized check-in for sponsored groups such as international students, Marching Hundred, and specific LLCs.
Students will check in at the Alice McDonald Nelson Building, 801 N. Eagleson Avenue. Free parking will be available in the "ST" spaces on Eagleson or the "CH" spaces in the lot west of the building. Limited short-term paid parking is available on Law Lane via the ParkMobile app.
Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19: Grand Move-In
It's called Grand Move-In for a reason—it's when most first-year and transfer students arrive on campus!
Step 1: Check in at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, 1001 E. 17th Street, on your assigned day and during your designated time block before heading to your residence hall.
Step 2: Go to your residence hall (one vehicle per family) to unload and go.
Step 3: Move your vehicle should be moved to a designated parking garage or parking lot.
Check-in times are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19. Please arrive at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall during your Move-In Appointment window. If you arrive after 4 p.m., you will go straight to your center desk to check in.
IMPORTANT: To support a smooth move-in for everyone, please arrive as scheduled. Students who arrive early may be asked to return at their assigned time. (Students will sign up for their move-in date and time over the summer. Keep an eye out for more information when and how to sign up from your IU email.)

On and after Thursday, August 20: Post-Grand Move-In
Residents arriving after Wednesday, August 19, will go directly to the center desk of their assigned residence hall to check in.
Monday Aug. 24: First day of classes
The academic school year officially begins.
