What are your goals for your time at IU? Living on campus isn’t just about housing—it’s about the whole college experience. Learning communities connect you to a ready-made group of peers and mentors who share your interests and broaden your life on campus.

Learning communities come in two forms that offer unique opportunities for anyone interested in getting the most out of college. You can apply to a Living Learning Center (LLC) or request assignment to a thematic community on your housing application.

 

If you're worried about coming to a campus with lots of people, being in an LLC is a really good way to make it feel small... makes you feel more at home, makes it easier to make friends.

Honors

Honors Residential Communities (HRCs) are lively and dynamic communities available in each neighborhood to meet the academic and housing interests of members of the Hutton Honors College. The annual activity fee of $100 is split into two equal installments for billing purposes.

Hoosier Link

Hoosier Link is a transfer program between Indiana University Bloomington and Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington. The annual activity fee of $50 is split into two equal installments for billing purposes.

Luis Dávila Latinx

This community provides Latinx and non-Latinx students an opportunity to critically examine the culture, experiences, history, issues, and politics of Latinxs. The annual activity fee of $100 is split into two equal installments for billing purposes.

Outdoor Adventure

Take a personal challenge to step out of comfort zones and try something new. There are many opportunities to use or develop leadership skills. The annual activity fee of $100 is split into two equal installments for billing purposes.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts community brings together students interested in theater, music, and dance. All skill levels are welcome. The annual activity fee of $100 is split into two equal installments for billing purposes.

Residence Scholars

This community provides students with the opportunity to receive a housing scholarship and live in an active floor community.
